CERTH, founded in 2000, is a leading research center in Greece conducting specialized basic and applied research and offering high quality services in the domain of Life Sciences.  CERTH is listed among the top 20 EU institutions with the highest participation in competitive research grants. The Institute of Applied Biosciences at CERTH (INAB|CERTH) and the Hellenic Institute of Transport at CERTH (HIT|CERTH) are dedicated, respectively, to the promotion and execution of applied biosciences and transport research, i.e., two of the focus areas of SciLake. Research at INAB|CERTH revolves around molecular medicine, biomedical informatics, and the development and evaluation of eHealth, mainly in chronic diseases; whereas, HIT|CERTH research focuses, amongst others, on transport policy, transportation infrastructure management, sustainable transport infrastructure and services.

CERTH was the coordinator of the 1st initiative of Open Science in transport research funded by H2020 (BE OPEN).

Role in the project

CERTH contributes in the piloting activities (WP5) offering its expertise in Cancer and Trasportation research. CERTH will also actively contribute in the requirement acquisition and design activities providing the needs of the respective scientific fields.
